Swansea Wrexham NEET project

September 2011

A report by Arad Research on the approaches taken by public services in Swansea and Wrexham to reducing the proportion of young people aged 16 to 18 not in education, employment or training (NEET) has recently been published.

The study, which was commissioned by the New Models of Service Delivery Work Stream in collaboration with the relevant policy departments of the Welsh Government, has considered:

  • what both areas have done to make a difference;
  • what common characteristics and practices appear to be contributing towards their success;
  • a proposed methodology to appraise and evaluate their efficiency potential; and
  • the costs and benefits of the approaches to society and to public services over the long term.
The full report and summary findings can be downloaded here. For further information, please contact Hefin Thomas on 02920 440 552.
